In January 2024 the non-profit Jubilee College
purchased Railroad Park Resort, and we added the joy of Jubilee, to become Jubilee Railroad.

Our hope is to continue to make guests happy while growing the Wilderness Lodge and Dining Car restaurant as a hub and center in northern California for hospitality, great food, and living in ways that restore earth and community. We aim to put greater attention on the health of the lands, water and forests of our valley, to begin sourcing from regional farms and suppliers and to explore foods that are more indigenous to this place. We intend to offer a welcoming, joyful place for diverse guests from around the world!

Jubilee College is a new, small, two-year work-study school designed for a community of young people who believe that a better world is possible and who want to reach for it with others, to create it! Student housing will be built in new facilities up the valley behind the Lodge, and classes will be in downtown Dunsmuir in a remodeled 20,000 square foot building that was 30+ years ago, the town’s elementary school. The first 28-person class of students at Jubilee College will start in the fall of 2026, and a part of their program will be to help maintain their campus and to support employees in expanding and deepening the work of the Wilderness Lodge. We also work with the Winnemem Wintu to restore the wild salmon, and with other local tribes and farmers to restore habitat in northern California.

We are connected to other emerging schools and creative people globally, and like the best of what trains between places can allow, we often have amazing guest faculty, artists, and visitors coming through to share ideas, talks and events. We are a nonprofit and have growing opportunities to serve and volunteer, as well as ways to join us in supporting the water protectors who are ensuring the health of these headwaters.

Please sign-up with us on social media to learn more. Please also consider, as guests to this region, bringing your intentions, blessings, and commitment to join us in protecting the water.

We are so glad to have you here!
